PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Bradman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Livingston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Don Bradman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carlos Livingston!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Livingston drives through with a takedown into Bradman's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Bradman avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Livingston won't allow Bradman to sweep him here.
Livingston is looking to work some ground and pound but Bradman has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Livingston's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Livingston looking to pass the guard.
Bradman seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Livingston is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Livingston shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bradman as he jumps to the side.

Bradman pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Livingston takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Carlos Livingston has been cut.

Livingston closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bradman's guard.
Bradman wants to sweep here but Livingston controlling him for the moment.
Bradman managing to control the position.
Livingston trying to control the position from guard on top but Bradman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bradman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Livingston throws a strike but Bradman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Livingston looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bradman is one step ahead there.
Bradman trying to control but Livingston is working from the bottom.
Bradman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Bradman wants to pass the guard but Livingston is keeping the position.

Bradman trying to control the position from guard on top but Livingston is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bradman's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bradman throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Livingston's head.
Bradman throws a head kick that misses.
Bradman throws a head kick but Livingston moves out of range.
Livingston fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Livingston tries for a takedown but Bradman circles away easily
and Bradman counters with a straight right hand.
Don Bradman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Livingston.
Livingston tries to move into range but Bradman moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Livingston manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bradman on his heels. He'll look to pass Bradman's guard now, I'm sure.
Bradman has momentary wrist control but Livingston slips an elbow through the middle.
Livingston scoring with some ground and pound.
Livingston slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Bradman is trying to get back to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bradman is working to avoid the ground and pound but Livingston connects with a decent elbow.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Livingston throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
The ground and pound from Livingston seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Don Bradman will probably get the nod.

Livingston drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Bradman has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Livingston is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Livingston has Bradman pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bradman manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Bradman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Livingston fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bradman avoids it really well and circles away.
Livingston stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bradman.
Bradman lands with an uppercut that bounces Livingston off the cage and back into range.
Bradman throws a leg kick that misses.
Livingston checks a low kick from Bradman.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bradman throws a body kick that misses.

Livingston fails with the takedown
and Bradman cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Don Bradman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Livingston.
Livingston throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bradman's waist but Bradman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Livingston off to one side.
Bradman lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Livingston tries for a takedown but Bradman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The fighters circle momentarily. Bradman darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Bradman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nice sprawl there from Bradman as Livingston shoots in.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Bradman.
Don Bradman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Livingston shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Livingston was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Livingston throws a strike aimed at the side of Bradman's head but Bradman avoids it well.
Bradman tries to improve position but can't.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Livingston is working Bradman over with some ground and pound from side control.

Bradman manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Livingston is stalling here. Bradman is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Livingston seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bradman has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Bradman trying to control the position but Livingston is working away.
Livingston wants to control but Bradman postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bradman wants to control but Livingston is keeping him busy.
Bradman advances to mount.
Bradman trying to control but Livingston is having none of it.

Livingston regains half guard.
Bradman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Livingston keeps working.
Bradman is really struggling to control Livingston but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Bradman prevents Livingston from improving his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Bradman is looking to take a break and control but Livingston is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bradman looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Livingston is pressing down on Bradman's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Bradman slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Don Bradman dominated that second round.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Bradman scores with a kick to the body.
Bradman lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Livingston keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Bradman is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Bradman throws a body shot but no joy.
Bradman is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Bradman. Livingston shrugs it off though.
Don Bradman is winning the standup battle so far.

Bradman feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Livingston sprawling to the canvas! Livingston rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Bradman finish him?!


Livingston is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Livingston shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bradman but Bradman pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Livingston shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bradman manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Livingston with a flurry of punches that miss.
Livingston seems to have recovered his senses.
Bradman has his hands on Livingston's head, controlling the position.
Livingston trying to control the position from guard on top but Bradman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Bradman seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Bradman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Livingston can do to turn this around?
Bradman not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Livingston throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bradman works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bradman displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Livingston.
Livingston fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bradman avoids it really well and circles away.
Carlos Livingston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Livingston takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bradman throws a hook to the side of Livingston's head but Livingston sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Livingston tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bradman swivels and escapes.
Livingston shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bradman as he avoids it easily.
Bradman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bradman connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Livingston shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bradman defends it nicely.
Bradman stuffs the takedown.

Bradman connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Livingston misses with a takedown
and Bradman counters with a head kick.
A nice inside leg kick there by Bradman. That's going to slow Livingston down.
Bradman scores with a push kick.

Bradman lands a big head kick that sends Livingston tumbling to the mat! Bradman takes a step backwards and waves Livingston back to his feet - he wants the finish!


That has opened up Carlos Livingston's cut even more.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bradman connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Bradman closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Livingston! Bradman dives in looking to finish! Livingston is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Don Bradman!
A very excited looking Don Bradman rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
