The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whittaker cracks Ceronne with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

It looks like Alexander Ceronne has been cut.
Ceronne fails with the takedown.
Ceronne closes this distance looking for a takedown but Whittaker circles away.
A shot to the liver by Whittaker. Beautiful body shot.
Ceronne shoots in but Whittaker avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Ceronne. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ceronne chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Whittaker can pounce on him.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Whittaker enables Ceronne to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Whittaker manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Whittaker is looking to stand up but Ceronne isn't so interested in that idea.
Whittaker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ceronne. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ceronne drops back looking for a leg! Whittaker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Whittaker manages to kick Ceronne off! Ceronne jumps back into Whittaker's guard.

Ceronne shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Whittaker to counter with a crisp jab.
Whittaker lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Ceronne tries to move into range but Whittaker moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Ceronne moves out of range of the leg kick from Whittaker.
Whittaker tries a head kick but it misses.
Whittaker scores with a shot to the body.

and Whittaker counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Alexander Ceronne's cut is getting worse.
Ceronne on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Alexander Ceronne's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
No luck for Ceronne with that takedown attempt.

and Whittaker counters with a big right hand! Oh Ceronne is in trouble here! Whittaker follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
