Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taj Trigger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Archer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Archer is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Centuries. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taj Trigger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Archer!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Archer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Trigger.

Archer closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Trigger quickly recovers to half guard.
Trigger is trying to maintain the position but Archer is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Archer sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Trigger defending well though.
Trigger is trying to stand up here but Archer is controlling him well.
Archer is looking to take a break and control but Trigger is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Archer perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Trigger blocking the ground and pound attempt from Archer.
Trigger wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Archer thumps Trigger with a low kick.
Archer throws a leg kick but Trigger moved away.
Archer looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Archer takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
We've been hearing reports that Trigger has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Trigger takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Archer throws a leg kick but Trigger sees it coming and moves out of range.
Archer looks to land a left hand but Trigger moved out of range nicely.
Trigger slips a jab from Archer.
Trigger swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Archer shoots in and gets a takedown into Trigger's guard.

Archer is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Trigger is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Archer is controlling him.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Trigger tries to improve position but can't.
You can see the frustration on Trigger's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Archer throws a strike aimed at the side of Trigger's head but Trigger avoids it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Trigger slips a jab and a cross from Archer.
As Archer tries to get set, Trigger tries to push him back and clinch up but Archer manages to avoid the attempt.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Archer doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Trigger scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Trigger swats away the attempt to clinch by Archer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Archer dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Trigger takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Archer throws a big shot that misses.
Trigger misses with a straight left.
Archer throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
A low kick from Trigger is predictable there
and Archer counters with a nice leg kick.
Archer looks to score with a jab to the body but Trigger is just out of range.
Archer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Trigger checks a leg kick.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Trigger stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Archer.
Archer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Trigger manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Archer ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Trigger uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Archer.
Archer looks to score with a jab to the body but Trigger is just out of range.
Trigger throws a head kick that misses.

Archer scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Aaron Archer has got the better of the ground game so far.
Archer is looking to advance position but Trigger won't allow it.
Trigger pushes Archer off looking to stand but Archer dives back in and keeps control.

and Trigger counters by clinching up.

Trigger lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Archer backwards.
Trigger has had enough of the clinch but Archer keeps him there for the moment.
Archer has Trigger pressed against the cage, preventing Trigger from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Trigger blocks an uppercut.
A left hand lands to the body for Archer.
Archer misses with a hook from the clinch.

Trigger breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Archer throws a low kick, looking for Trigger's leg but Trigger calmly moves out of range.
Archer takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Trigger misses with a kick to the body.
Archer throws a chopping leg kick but Trigger manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Trigger lands a jab.
Archer just misses with a punch to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Archer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Archer wants to stay close but Trigger steps back to make room for something. Archer seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Trigger and Archer drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Taj Trigger!
Taj Trigger seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
