Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ash Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamal Provodnikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 42 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ash Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jamal Provodnikov!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Provodnikov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Thomas paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Thomas leaves Provodnikov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Provodnikov avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Provodnikov lands with a nice combination. Thomas backs away looking to recover.
Provodnikov misses with a head kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Thomas, right into the meat.
Provodnikov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Thomas defends it nicely.
Thomas fires out a quick counter leg kick but Provodnikov just manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Provodnikov darts in trying to clinch
and Provodnikov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Thomas displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Provodnikov.

Thomas fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Provodnikov manages to avoid it.
Provodnikov tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Thomas connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Provodnikov fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Thomas takes a shot to the body in his stride.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Thomas moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Provodnikov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Thomas.
Thomas scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Thomas is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Provodnikov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Provodnikov tries to clinch but Thomas moves away
and Thomas counters with a right hand to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ash Thomas dominated that round.

Provodnikov wants to clinch up but Thomas keeps it at a distance.

Ash Thomas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Provodnikov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thomas as he jumps to the side.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Thomas turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Thomas lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Provodnikov shoots in for a takedown but Thomas shows good takedown defense.
Provodnikov lands a jab-cross combination.
Thomas fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Provodnikov has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Provodnikov takes a head kick and keeps coming.


Provodnikov is rocked!
A solid leg kick lands there for Thomas.
Provodnikov is still on wobbly legs! Can Thomas finish him?
Thomas throws an overhand right that drops Provodnikov like a sack of potatoes! Thomas dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ash Thomas!
A less than humble Ash Thomas misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
