PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Moss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Kenvinchen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kenvinchen's choice of entrance music: Still Rock n Roll To Me - Billy Joel. Richard Kenvinchen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dennis Moss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Kenvinchen!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Dean Styles and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kenvinchen closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Moss's guard.
Moss lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Kenvinchen tries to strike from the bottom.
Kenvinchen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Moss's guard.


Kenvinchen decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Moss, up you get!

Kenvinchen gets a takedown into half guard.
Moss is trying to get back to full guard.
Moss really is a fat lump.
Moss moves into full guard.

Moss had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kenvinchen defends it easily.
Kenvinchen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Kenvinchen passes Moss's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Kenvinchen is controlling the pace.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kenvinchen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Moss pushes Kenvinchen off looking to stand but Kenvinchen dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kenvinchen wants to take a breather but Moss is having none of it.
Kenvinchen with the ground and pound but Moss uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Moss is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kenvinchen defends well.
Kenvinchen throwing strikes from guard but Moss blocks nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kenvinchen slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Moss gets tackled into the cage by Kenvinchen. Kenvinchen maintains the clinch.
Moss tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Kenvinchen slows down the pace here.
Kenvinchen has Moss pushed against the cage.
Kenvinchen looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Moss blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Kenvinchen ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kenvinchen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Moss has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kenvinchen is proving hard to escape from.

Kenvinchen is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Moss is aware though and is defending well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Moss passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Moss wants to take a breather but Kenvinchen is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Richard Kenvinchen dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Moss fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kenvinchen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kenvinchen lands a left and a right that send Moss crashing to the mat, dazed. Kenvinchen thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Dennis Moss has been cut.

Kenvinchen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.


Moss is rocked!
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Kenvinchen. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kenvinchen controls the position from side control.
Oh Moss is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kenvinchen advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moss is trying to escape the mount.
Moss seems to have got his legs back now.
Kenvinchen wants to control the action but instead Moss gets a body lock and reverses into Kenvinchen's guard! Nice work!
Kenvinchen looking for a sweep. Not yet Kenvinchen, not yet.

Kenvinchen trying to keep a closed guard but Moss is proving a slippery customer.
Kenvinchen is breathing heavily.
Kenvinchen wants to hit a switch here but Moss passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Kenvinchen there!
Kenvinchen wants to hold on but Moss pushes him away.
Moss scoring with strikes but Kenvinchen is staying in there.
Moss prevents Kenvinchen from getting the reversal.
Moss is looking to work his way around to Kenvinchen's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Kenvinchen is desperately trying to improve his position but Moss has a good base and remains in mount.
Kenvinchen wants to control but Moss is having none of it.
Moss lands a nice shot to the head.
Kenvinchen is squirming around, avoiding Moss's attempts to control the action.

Moss has hold of Kenvinchen's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kenvinchen manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Moss is landing with some decent strikes but Kenvinchen is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Moss lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Moss controlling the position easily from mount.
Moss lands a big shot there that rocks Kenvinchen but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Moss lands a nice shot to the head.
Kenvinchen wants to hold on but Moss pushes him away.
Moss pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Moss looking to control and managing it successfully.
Kenvinchen can't escape the position.

Moss lands with some strikes.
Moss is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Kenvinchen can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Moss lands a big shot there that rocks Kenvinchen but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Kenvinchen slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Moss lands a nice short elbow.
Moss working Kenvinchen over with strikes.
Moss thows a huge punch but Kenvinchen dodges it nicely.
Moss stalling.

Moss is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kenvinchen is just riding it out for now. Moss eventually gives up the hold.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Dennis Moss's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Kenvinchen throws a sloppy head kick
and Moss counters with a nice body kick.

Kenvinchen shoots in and bounces Moss off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Moss looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kenvinchen preventing the sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Moss looking for subs off his back but Kenvinchen has passed one foot through into half guard.
Kenvinchen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Moss keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Kenvinchen not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Kenvinchen decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
A punch lands to the side of Moss 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Kenvinchen drives through and clinches with Moss against the cage.
Kenvinchen lands a body punch in the clinch.
Kenvinchen content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Kenvinchen lands a shot to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kenvinchen wants to break the clinch but can't.

Kenvinchen manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Kenvinchen wriggles free and stands up.
Moss drops his hands momentarily and Kenvinchen takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Dennis Moss is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kenvinchen rushes Moss and presses him up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kenvinchen gets control of Moss's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kenvinchen will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Kenvinchen pulls Moss in close to his closed guard and prevents Moss from doing any damage or advancing position.
Kenvinchen wants to sweep here but Moss controlling him for the moment.

Kenvinchen throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Kenvinchen working a defensive guard here.
Moss is looking to stand up but Kenvinchen won't let him.
Kenvinchen looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Kenvinchen looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Moss has picked Kenvinchen up and slammed him! Kenvinchen can't keep hold of the triangle and Moss manages to pass to side control!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Moss looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Kenvinchen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Moss scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kenvinchen to see if he's OK.
Kenvinchen is looking to regain half guard here but Moss keeps moving and retains side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Moss lands a few punches from side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Richard Kenvinchen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kenvinchen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
