Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abraham Safforn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abraham Safforn will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 39 - 49 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Abraham Safforn!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jorge Garcia and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Safforn has taken the fight to the clinch.

Rogers breaks from the clinch.
Rogers feints a jab promting Safforn to slip. Rogers then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Safforn slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Rogers is trying hard to land a takedown here. Safforn sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Safforn slips a jab and a cross from Rogers.
And Safforn responds with a good body kick, but Rogers manages to step out the way in time.
Safforn stuffs the takedown attempt from Rogers. Rogers gets slowly back to his feet.
Safforn pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Safforn looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Good shot there by Safforn.
Safforn looks to land a right hand but Rogers moved out of range.
Rogers fails to land with a series of punches.
Rogers looks to score with a jab to the body but Safforn is just out of range.
Rogers changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Safforn tries to avoid it but Rogers manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Safforn to the ground. Safforn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Rogers. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Safforn throws a head kick but Rogers moves out of range.
Rogers throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Safforn's waist but Safforn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rogers off to one side.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Safforn! But no joy.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Safforn gets a clinch.
Rogers is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Safforn pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Safforn lands with a right to the head.
Rogers has Safforn pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Safforn manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Rogers wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Safforn working Rogers over with knees to the body.
Rogers is breathing heavily.
Safforn lands a nice knee to the body.
Safforn works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
A right hand to the body from Safforn.

Safforn wants the takedown. Rogers is fighting it off but Safforn persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Rogers's guard against the cage.
Safforn makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Safforn seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Safforn working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Safforn loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Safforn chips away with some ground and pound.
Safforn is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Safforn postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rogers is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Safforn, into his guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Safforn wants to stand but Rogers is controlling the position.
Safforn tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rogers trying to control the position from guard on top but Safforn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Safforn wants to sweep but no luck.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rogers pushing down on Safforn's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Rogers is trying to control. Safforn wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Safforn kicks Rogers off and gets back to his feet.

Rogers is rocked!

Rogers throws a sloppy head kick
and Safforn counters with a monster hook and another for good measure! Rogers falls to the ground, out cold! Stick some heavy metal music over the top of that clip and it's one for the highlight makers!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Abraham Safforn!
A very excited looking Abraham Safforn made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
