Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duane Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Aires (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruno Aires has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Duane Perry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruno Aires!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perry lands with a good body shot.
Perry throws the kick towards the body but Aires avoids it.
Aires shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Perry as he avoids it easily.
A thudding body kick lands there by Perry!
Perry keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Aires.

Aires shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Perry manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Perry looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aires throwing strikes but missing.
Aires pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Perry is keeping the position for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perry manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Aires manages to get himself to full guard.

Perry keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Aires's head.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Aires is on top in guard.

Perry is looking to stand up but Aires isn't so interested in that idea.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Aires accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Aires looking to sit in guard and control but Perry gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Aires is on top in guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Aires working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Aires stands up over Perry, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That was a close round but I would say that Duane Perry will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Aires takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Perry throws a body punch but Aires moves out of range.
Horrible takedown attempt by Aires or perhaps it was just good defense by Perry, which made it look bad.
Perry tries to counter by clinching up but Aires breaks away and moves out of range.

Aires shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Aires landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Perry manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Aires keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Perry misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Aires looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Perry lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Perry pushes off an throws an elbow but Aires leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Perry makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Perry swings wildly with an uppercut but Aires uses good head movement to avoid it.
Perry fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Aires gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Aires wants to control from the top but Perry keeps moving.

Perry has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Aires has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

A head punch blocked on the inside by Perry.
Perry misses with the head strike.

Aires breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Aires shoots in and drives through. Perry sprawls well.

Aires bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Aires is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Perry knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Aires goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Perry rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Aires's guard! Nice work there by Perry!
Bruno Aires has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Aires takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Perry postures up.
Perry trying to control but Aires is working from the bottom.

Perry engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Aires has his foot on Perry's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Perry works his way back into a safe position though.

Perry is trying to control. Aires wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Duane Perry showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Perry has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
