Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Armenian Fire!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Acobski shoots in looking for a takedown but Fire manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Acobski's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Fire pushes Acobski up against the cage in a clinch.
Acobski working hard to break the clinch.
Acobski swings wildly with an uppercut but Fire uses good head movement to avoid it.
Acobski with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Fire breaks from the clinch.

Fire gets a clinch.

Fire turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Fire moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Acobski is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Acobski looking for a sweep but Fire has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Fire controlling the position easily from mount.
Fire is looking to stand but Acobski has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Fire fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Fire looking to finish Acobski with some ground and pound. This is bad for Acobski!
Acobski manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Fire controlling the action here.

Fire landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fire tries to pass the half guard into mount. Acobski knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Fire wants to stand up but Acobski is controlling the position.
Fire has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Fire wants to get back to his feet but Acobski is holding on tight.
Fire content just to control the position here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Fire scoring with strikes but Acobski is staying in there.
Fire controlling from the full mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fire scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Acobski?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Armenian Fire dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Fire fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Acobski to the ground. Fire is now in Acobski's guard.
Fire controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Fire trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Fire connects with a couple of short punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fire wants to stand but Acobski has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Fire moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Acobski waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Fire.
Acobski throws a sloppy head kick and Fire moves out of range easily.
A swing and a miss from Acobski.
Acobski lands a really nice looking cross but Fire seems unphased.
Acobski tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fire swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Acobski misses with the combination.

Fire clinches up with Acobski and pushes him back against the cage.

Fire gets control of Acobski's arms and successfully pulls guard. Fire will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Acobski throws a big elbow that misses.
Acobski postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Fire has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Acobski doesn't defend quickly enough and Fire has managed to lock this one up! Can Acobski escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Fire on a fantastic submission victory.
