Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lip Ton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyson James has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lip Ton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyson James!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James slips a jab from Ton.

James moves into range and clinches up with Ton.

James jumps guard and drags Ton to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Ton has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

James is looking for a triangle but Ton pushes his legs off easily.

James looking for a guillotine here but Ton defends easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James is trying to control the position from the bottom.

James escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ton trying to control but James is working from the bottom.
James is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
James looking to control.
James keeping full guard, as Ton tries to pass.
James pulls Ton in close to prevent any damage.
Ton sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
James pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
James punishes Ton's body with a nice straight punch.
Ton takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
James scores with a nice body kick.
James digs a good body shot into Ton's ribs.
Ton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

James looks for the body kick but Ton saw that one coming.

James takes the fight into the clinch.
Ton prevents a body shot from James.
James tries to score a body lock takedown but Ton shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Ton blocks the elbow strike.
Ton avoiding damage as James throws knees to the body.
Ton on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Ton tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

James breaks the clinch.
Ton finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
James darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
James thuds his shin into the meat of Ton's side.
Ton takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
James feints and then cracks Ton's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ton down.
Ton looks for the body kick but James saw that one coming.
Ton throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Ton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ton blocks a head kick by James.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
James keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ton misses with an uppercut.
James looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

James moves into the clinch successfully.
James using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Ton has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
James lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Ton or not.
Ton with an attempt at a knee that misses.
James scores with a shoulder strike.
Ton misses with a knee to the head.
Ton looking to throw knees to the head but James is blocking nicely.
James tries to pull guard but Ton won't allow it.
Ton with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
James lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ton backwards.
James stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Ton is breathing heavily.
James lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ton backwards.

James's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
James avoids a kick to the body.
James displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

James darts in and clinches Ton up against the cage.
Ton looking to throw knees to the head but James is blocking nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyson James dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ton gets cracked with a nice right hand there by James.


Ton is still looking wobbly from the end of the last round!

James takes the fight into the clinch.
James lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Oh Ton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
James tries to pull guard but Ton forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

James manages to pull guard.
Ton seems to have got his legs back now.

James is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ton is aware though and is defending well.

James has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ton is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for James.
James is trying to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ton is trying to get an arm triangle but James is defending well.
You can see the frustration on James's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
James is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James is trying to work for a sweep but Ton has mounted him!
James working to try and regain half guard.
Ton avoids the attempt from James to control.
Ton trying to control but James is having none of it.

Ton tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Ton looking to control but James is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
James is trying desperately to improve position.
James tries to hold on but Ton postures up.

James really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Ton trying to control but James is having none of it.
James slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Ton is looking for a kimura here.

James is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Ton has latched onto it... Big trouble! Ton pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it James is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Ton!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Lip Ton!
An out of breath Lip Ton thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
