Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Pugh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gunner Houston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pedro Pugh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gunner Houston!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pugh gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Houston to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Let's hope that Houston has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Houston content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Houston looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Houston is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pugh utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Houston is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pugh's half guard.
Houston content to control rather than advance.

It looks like Houston might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Pugh drops down looking for a counter takedown but Houston sprawls and moves away.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Houston can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Pugh is looking to clinch.
Houston is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Gunner Houston is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Houston drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Houston slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Houston postures up in Pugh's guard and throws a big left but Pugh blocks it.
Houston stays in close to Pugh's body and controls the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Houston.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Pugh closes this distance looking for a takedown but Houston circles away.
It seemed like Houston was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Houston dives in and scores a takedown into Pugh's guard.
Houston's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Houston slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Gunner Houston showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Houston throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pugh tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Houston is in Pugh's guard.

Pugh has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Houston has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pugh tries to break free but Houston pushes him back against the cage.

Houston wants the takedown. Pugh is fighting it off but Houston persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Pugh's guard against the cage.
Pugh wants to sweep but no luck.
Houston is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Houston is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Houston stays in close to Pugh's body and controls the position.
Houston postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Houston has closed the distance and engaged Pugh in a clinch.
Pugh is trying to push Houston away but Houston has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Houston looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Pugh working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Houston can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pugh controls the pace.
Pugh wants to control from the top but Houston keeps moving.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Houston wants to stand up but Pugh is controlling him.
Pedro Pugh has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Gunner Houston is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Gunner Houston comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Houston winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
