Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Miles North!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jermey Hritzkowin!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hritzkowin buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
North really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
North scores with a jab to the jaw.
North misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Hritzkowin gets a clinch.
North wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hritzkowin has him pressed against the cage.
Hritzkowin lands a body shot.
Hritzkowin lands with a short punch from the clinch.
North misses with a knee to the head.
Hritzkowin softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Hritzkowin lands with a short shot to the head.
Hritzkowin's coach down at Restricted area was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hritzkowin's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Hritzkowin lands a body punch in the clinch.
Hritzkowin lands a nice uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
North tries to pull guard but Hritzkowin holds him up against the cage and eventually North drops back down to his feet.
Hritzkowin lands with a short shot to the head.
Hritzkowin lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Hritzkowin lands with a left to the head.
North is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

North is looking to break free of the clinch but Hritzkowin has double underhooks.
I was talking to North's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Hritzkowin digs a right hand into North's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on North's gas tank.
North tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hritzkowin just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hritzkowin lands with a right to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
North is trying to break the clinch but Hritzkowin is controlling him.
Hritzkowin softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
North takes a shot to the head.


North is rocked!
Hritzkowin fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Oh North is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hritzkowin swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Hritzkowin tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
North blocks an uppercut.
North seems to have got his legs back now.
North fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miles North. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hritzkowin lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of North backwards.
Hritzkowin scores with a nice hook to the head.
Hritzkowin unloads with a big right hand that wobbles North! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Hritzkowin is unloading with more strikes now! North drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jermey Hritzkowin! Jermey Hritzkowin retains his lightweight title!
After winning the bout, Jermey Hritzkowin thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
