Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Carlton Kerhley!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kazekage Kuro!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuro shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kerhley sprawls well. Kerhley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kuro gets slowly back to his feet.

Kerhley feints and as Kuro raises his hands in defense, Kerhley changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kerhley trying to control the position from guard on top but Kuro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kuro looking for a guillotine here but Kerhley defends easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kerhley slips nicely into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kerhley takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Kuro is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kerhley defends well.
Kuro wants to sweep but no luck.
Kerhley not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Kuro is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kerhley is aware though and is defending well.
Kuro utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kerhley makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Kerhley working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kuro's head.

Kuro had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kerhley defends it easily.
Kuro has momentary wrist control but Kerhley slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kerhley lands a couple of digs.

Kerhley avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kerhley sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kuro's guard.
Kuro wants to get back to full guard.
Kerhley working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Kuro is rocked!
Kerhley lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Kuro quite badly. Kuro pulls Kerhley in close trying to recover. Kerhley postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Kuro on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Kuro doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlton Kerhley!

During a confident post fight interview, Carlton Kerhley thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
Kazekage Kuro was interviewed post fight and said 'Ahhhhh crap!'.
