Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Archie Wong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonathan Williams!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Anthony Taglia and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams lands with a shot to the body.
Williams wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Williams misses with a two punch combination.

Williams throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wong was covering up waiting for the punch and Williams finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Wong really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Williams stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Williams looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Wong manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Williams keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Wong thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Wong is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Williams pulls his head out easily.

Wong throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Williams.

Williams feints and as Wong raises his hands in defense, Williams changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Williams has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Let's hope that Williams has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Wong has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Williams can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Jonathan Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wong shoots in looking for a takedown. Williams tries to sprawl out of it but Wong keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Williams manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Despite the aggression on Williams's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Wong enables Williams to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wong manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wong has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Williams has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Wong escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Williams rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wong moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Williams misses with a double jab.

Wong has his foot on Williams's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Williams works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Williams is working Wong over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Williams slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Jonathan Williams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Williams closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wong to the mat! Wong manages to get full guard.

Williams wants to free his trapped foot but Wong is holding on for dear life with his legs.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Wong bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Williams tries to buck Wong off but Wong is having none of it.
You can see the frustration on Williams's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Williams is looking for a sweep.
Williams is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Wong has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Wong is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Williams has escaped the position, nice work there.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Williams trying his best to control but Wong has mounted him.

Williams tries to lock up and control but Wong gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Wong won't let Williams get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Williams tries to reverse the position but Wong maintains control.
Williams trying desperately to get to his feet.
Williams slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Williams is trying to stand.
Williams works his way to full guard. Good work.

Wong stops Williams from standing up.
Williams manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wong manages to get himself to full guard.

Williams wants to control from the top but Wong keeps moving.
Williams might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Wong haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Williams tries to free his leg and advance position but Wong is retaining full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Wong kicks Williams off and gets to his feet.
Williams misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

And that's the end of the fight!
