Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Don Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tully Blanchard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tully Blanchard will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tully Blanchard!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stewart gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Stewart creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Blanchard sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Blanchard misses with a hook. Stewart ducked under it nicely.

Stewart fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Blanchard sprawls well initially but Stewart persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Blanchard has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stewart is working away from the top position though.

We've been hearing good reports from Stewart's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

I would just about give that final round to Tully Blanchard.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
