PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eulalio Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Kaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonzalez comes into the arena with El Party Me Llama blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 21 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eulalio Gonzalez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Max Kaz!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gonzalez is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kaz is defending well for now.
Gonzalez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kaz walks away with a smile on his face. Gonzalez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Gonzalez looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Gonzalez swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kaz.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kaz connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Kaz throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gonzalez on the side of the head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gonzalez connects with a nice short shot to Kaz's temple.

And Kaz responds with a good body kick, but Gonzalez manages to step out the way in time.

Gonzalez takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Well Kaz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
