The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potter's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Potter duly obliges.
Thompson gets caught flat footed, as Potter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
My spies in Gym of the Gods inform me that Potter has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Potter sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Thompson can't keep his opponent in guard - Potter advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Potter is taking a breather. Thompson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Potter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Potter seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Thompson is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
