The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Escrima ducks under a wild hook from Boulpiquante.
Escrima moves into range and connects with a jab.
Escrima fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Boulpiquante manages to avoid it.
Mathieu Patrice Boulpiquante seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boulpiquante slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Boulpiquante scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Escrima has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Escrima connects with a good right hand that stumbles Boulpiquante. Boulpiquante circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Escrima tries to land a leg kick but Boulpiquante saw it coming and moves away.
The fighters circle, before Boulpiquante throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Escrima's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Boulpiquante lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
