Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tracy Dalton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mendel Anshel!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dalton fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dalton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Anshel tries to bum rush Dalton with a series of wild strikes but Dalton uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dalton throws a big counter combination but Anshel scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Dalton tries to sprawl but Anshel drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Anshel content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Dalton is in trouble now - Anshel has advanced to mount!
Anshel looking for a guillotine from mount but Dalton is having none of it.
Anshel controlling from the full mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
It looks like Anshel might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Anshel postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dalton looks a forlorn figure.
Anshel fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Dalton wants to control but Anshel is having none of it.
Dalton is working to get back to half guard.
Anshel controlling the position easily from mount.
Dalton is looking to improve his position but Anshel isn't that keen on the idea.
Anshel controlling the pace for now.
Anshel working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Dalton turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Anshel off and cradles Dalton's limp body as Anshel celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Mendel Anshel!
A very excited looking Mendel Anshel made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
