Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Putski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Frettish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ivan Putski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ed Frettish!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Putski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Frettish is fending him off so far but Putski persists. Nope, Frettish circles away and we're back to standing.
Frettish looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Putski closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Frettish's guard.
Putski looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Putski has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Putski is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Putski takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Putski looking to control but Frettish is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Frettish wants to control but Putski is having none of it.

Frettish defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Putski.

Putski swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Frettish is now in Putski's guard. A big mistake from Putski there, giving up the dominant position!
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Putski holds on and takes a little breather.
Frettish working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Frettish is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Frettish trying to control but Putski is working from the bottom.
Frettish must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Putski manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Frettish manages to get himself to full guard.

Ivan Putski dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.



Putski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Putski's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We've been hearing good reports from Putski's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Frettish is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Putski will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Frettish can do anything to dispel that myth.

Frettish ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Putski moves away.
No luck for Putski with that takedown attempt.
Putski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Frettish tries to avoid it but Putski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Frettish to the ground. Frettish escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Putski staying out of range there.
Putski will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Putski dives in for a single leg takedown but Frettish sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.

Frettish has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Frettish throws out a counter right but Putski avoids it with no problem.

Frettish lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
