Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kengo Mulumba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mulumba comes into the arena with Bongo Bong - Manu Chao blaring out of the sound system. Kengo Mulumba has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kengo Mulumba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Kane!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kane tries to clinch but Mulumba moves out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Mulumba on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Kane is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Mulumba counters with a nice uppercut.
Mulumba moves out of range of the body kick from Kane.
Mulumba was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kane throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Mulumba counters with a right hand to the body.

As Kane looks to move away, Mulumba throws a big counter combo but Kane just gets out of the way.

Kane changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mulumba tries to avoid it but Kane manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mulumba to the ground. Mulumba escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Kane might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Mulumba has got the better of the exchanges.

Kane will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Kane tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mulumba manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mulumba's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kane throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Horrible takedown attempt by Kane or perhaps it was just good defense by Mulumba, which made it look bad.

Kane has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mulumba after a bit of a struggle.

Kane is trying to drag Mulumba to the mat but Mulumba just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kengo Mulumba showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mulumba, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
