Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucifer Palhares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Payne comes to the cage accompanied by Bad Company. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Payne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lucifer Palhares!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payne misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Palhares scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Payne doesn't seem bothered though.
Payne with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
A jab from Palhares does it's job there.
Payne's corner calls for a 1-2. Payne obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Payne falls off balance throwing a combination

and Palhares counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Palhares is trying to work for a kimura but Payne is defending well.
Payne is trying to stand up here but Palhares is controlling him well.
Palhares is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Payne keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Palhares tries to pass to full mount but Payne defends it.

Payne is concentrating on defense, preventing Palhares from advancing position.
Palhares takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Payne knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Palhares on the ground.
Payne moves into full guard.
Palhares trying to control but Payne is working from the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Palhares advances to half guard.
Payne tries to get to full guard but Palhares has control of the leg.
Payne's coaches at The Factory have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Payne is looking to escape.
Palhares throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Payne is looking for a sweep. Palhares is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Payne's jab looks to have found its range, popping Palhares under the eye.
Payne cracks Palhares with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Payne loads up on a big right hand but Palhares slips the punch.
Payne cracks Palhares with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Max Payne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Payne looks to throw the jab but Palhares is out of range.
Palhares lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Payne misses the jab.
Palhares throws a poor cross that misses
and Palhares takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Palhares takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.


Palhares is rocked!
Payne feints a jab and as Palhares dips his head, Payne unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Palhares right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Palhares falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Payne smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Max Payne!
Our winner, Max Payne, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
