Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mario Graves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janusz Kowalix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Janusz Kowalix!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kowalix darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Graves really is a fat lump.
Kowalix is taking a breather. Graves says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Graves is trying desperately to improve position.
Graves tries to hold on but Kowalix postures up.

Graves might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kowalix tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Graves manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kowalix in particular looking to stall.

Kowalix working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Graves wants to control but Kowalix is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Let's hope that Kowalix has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Kowalix is thwarting Graves's attempts to control the position.
Kowalix is nestled in close to Graves, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kowalix takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kowalix looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Graves with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kowalix in particular looking to stall.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Kowalix.
It looks like Kowalix might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Kowalix closes this distance looking for a takedown but Graves circles away.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Kowalix clinches up with Graves and pushes him back against the cage.

Kowalix takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Graves throws a right hand that Kowalix ducks under and follows up with a left that Kowalix also avoids with ease.
Mario Graves is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kowalix shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Graves is trying to defend but Kowalix finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Well, if Kowalix is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Graves is trying to maintain the position but Kowalix is very close to passing his half guard.
Kowalix moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Graves.
Kowalix moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Kowalix connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Graves some visible discomfort.

Kowalix cracks Graves with a big elbow.
Graves is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kowalix off and has taken his back!
Graves is not going to allow Kowalix to sit and survive in this position.

Graves is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Kowalix is defending well though. Graves let's go of the attempt for now.
Kowalix's corner are yelling at him, telling him to just focus on controlling Graves's hands.

Janusz Kowalix has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kowalix is trying to get back to his feet but Graves has full control of the position and if anything, Kowalix has just worked his way into a worse spot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Janusz Kowalix showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Graves throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kowalix.
Kowalix drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Graves defends it well.

Kowalix moves into the clinch successfully.
Kowalix has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kowalix is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Graves can't fight it off and eventually Kowalix manages to take the fight to the floor. Graves looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Graves throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Graves is trying to improve his position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Graves wants to control but Kowalix postures up.
Kowalix controls the position.
Graves tries to strike but it doesn't land.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Graves misses with a few strikes there.
Kowalix tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Kowalix moves into range and clinches up with Graves.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kowalix has picked Graves up - he's going for a ride! Kowalix dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Mario Graves has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Janusz Kowalix comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Kowalix winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
