Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jewell Carrillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TJ Jaylen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jewell Carrillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, TJ Jaylen!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carrillo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jaylen to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Carrillo is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Jaylen dives into side control.

Jaylen just content to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jaylen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carrillo keeps working.
Jaylen lands a nice forearm strike.


It looks like Jewell Carrillo has been cut.
Jaylen is looking to take a break and control but Carrillo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Carrillo is trying to get back to half guard.

Jaylen working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Jaylen creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Carrillo sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jaylen trying to control the action but Carrillo is working from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on Carrillo's face as Jaylen controls the position.
It looks like Jaylen might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jaylen wants to control but Carrillo is keeping him busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carrillo sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Jaylen thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Jaylen escapes and gets back to his feet.
Carrillo could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Jaylen looking to score a takedown here. Carrillo is defending well but Jaylen drives through and ends up in Carrillo's guard.

Carrillo has his feet on Jaylen's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Jaylen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Carrillo on his heels. He'll look to pass Carrillo's guard now, I'm sure.

Carrillo looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jaylen has picked Carrillo up and slammed him! Carrillo can't keep hold of the triangle and Jaylen manages to pass to side control!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Carrillo is trying to improve his position.
Jaylen working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Jaylen tries to score with some ground and pound. Carrillo controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Jaylen throws a strike aimed at the side of Carrillo's head but Carrillo avoids it well.
Carrillo is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Carrillo prevents Jaylen from moving into mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

TJ Jaylen dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jewell Carrillo's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Jaylen misses with a combination
and Carrillo counters with an inside leg kick.
Carrillo avoids a kick to the body.
Jewell Carrillo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Jaylen gets a double leg takedown into Carrillo's guard.
Carrillo wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Jaylen manages to pass to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jaylen thows a huge punch but Carrillo dodges it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jaylen misses with a head shot. Carrillo uses the momentum to regain guard.

Carrillo working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Jaylen has passed into half guard!
TJ Jaylen has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carrillo is looking to get back to full guard here but Jaylen has managed to pass to side control instead.
Jaylen trying to control the action but Carrillo is working from the bottom.

Jaylen decides to stand back up. Jaylen steps back and let's Carrillo get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Jaylen clinches.

Jaylen breaks the clinch.

Jaylen darts in and clinches Carrillo up against the cage.
Jaylen digs a right hand into Carrillo's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Carrillo's gas tank.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jaylen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jaylen looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
TJ Jaylen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Jaylen keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Carrillo's efforts to push away.
Jaylen lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Carrillo backwards.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carrillo can't get the takedown.
Jaylen lands a right hand.

Jaylen breaks the clinch.

Jaylen shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Carrillo napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Carrillo bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Jaylen fakes the leg kick and cracks Carrillo in the body.

Jaylen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jaylen in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Jaylen decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Jaylen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Carrillo on his heels. He'll look to pass Carrillo's guard now, I'm sure.
Carrillo wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Jaylen manages to pass to side control.

Jaylen frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Carrillo wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Jaylen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

TJ Jaylen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Jaylen lands a big head kick that sends Carrillo tumbling to the mat! Jaylen takes a step backwards and waves Carrillo back to his feet - he wants the finish!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Jaylen has cracked Carrillo with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Jaylen lands another huge swinging hook and Carrillo tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Carrillo, before Jaylen can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). TJ Jaylen!
