Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cody Zeller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vaan Tseng (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cody Zeller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vaan Tseng!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zeller throws a sloppy head kick and Tseng moves out of range easily.
We've been informed that Tseng has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Tseng misses with a hook.
Tseng's corner calls for a 1-2. Tseng obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Zeller stuns Tseng with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Tseng throws a leg kick that is checked

and Zeller counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Zeller.

Tseng is trying to trip Zeller. He has hold of a leg but Zeller is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Tseng persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tseng accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Tseng throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Zeller works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Zeller is looking for a triangle but Tseng pushes his legs off easily.
Tseng content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Zeller has momentary wrist control but Tseng slips an elbow through the middle.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tseng works over Zeller with some ground and pound from guard.

Zeller is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Zeller avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tseng avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zeller trying to keep a closed guard but Tseng is proving a slippery customer.
Tseng is pushing down on Zeller's leg trying to pass to half guard. Zeller is fighting to maintain full guard but Tseng has managed to sneak the leg through.
Still in half guard, Tseng seems content to control.
Zeller gets back to full guard.
Tseng looking to sit in guard and control but Zeller gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Tseng keeping moving, preventing Zeller from controlling successfully.
Tseng is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tseng is on top in guard.

Tseng postures up in Zeller's guard and throws a big left but Zeller blocks it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Zeller is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Tseng trying to control but Zeller is working from the bottom.
Tseng has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Zeller looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Tseng lands a couple of elbows.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Zeller wants to sweep here but Tseng controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zeller manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tseng manages to get himself to full guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vaan Tseng dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Tseng throws a shot from downtown. Zeller moves away and avoids it.

Zeller gets caught flat footed, as Tseng shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Tseng has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Zeller manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tseng manages to get himself to full guard.

Vaan Tseng has got the better of the ground game so far.
Tseng lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Zeller wants to sweep but no luck.
Zeller is working hard here to advance position.
Tseng is in close to Zeller's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Zeller is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tseng is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Tseng. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Zeller is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Tseng rolls with it to try and escape but Zeller cranks on the arm and Tseng is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
