Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Magnus Stahl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Oliver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oliver comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Just Close your eyes kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Lance Oliver has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stahl throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Stahl fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Stahl throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Stahl misses with a wild combination.
Oliver tries to counter by closing the distance.
Stahl looks to land a combination but Oliver avoids it well.

and Oliver counters with a single leg into guard. Stahl didn't expect that.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stahl wants to stand and escape but Oliver is having none of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Stahl scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Oliver manages to mount him!

and Oliver moves into the clinch.

Oliver goes for a takedown in the clinch but Stahl prevents it.

Oliver has clasped his hands together around Stahl's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Stahl tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

That was a close round but I would say that Magnus Stahl will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Stahl is looking to clinch but Oliver is avoiding it.
Stahl shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Oliver eats them both and turns towards Stahl to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Oliver is looking for a kimura but Stahl is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Oliver to get the leverage.
Oliver is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Oliver really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Stahl.
Stahl wants to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Oliver slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Lance Oliver showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Stahl slaps away a takedown attempt from Oliver, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Oliver shoots in for a takedown but Stahl shows good takedown defense.

Oliver gets to his feet. Stahl looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Oliver takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

And Oliver tries to counter it with a takedown but Stahl pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Oliver's coach down at CT + BJJ & Wrestling sparring gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Oliver's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Oliver changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stahl tries to avoid it but Oliver manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stahl to the ground. Stahl escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
