Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Kochegarov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lucas Zero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ivan Kochegarov!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kochegarov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Zero actively working from the bottom here.
Zero is looking for a sweep. Kochegarov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Zero looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Zero moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Kochegarov stands up over Zero, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Zero looking for a guillotine here but Kochegarov defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kochegarov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Kochegarov stands up over Zero, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Kochegarov is stalling in the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Zero tries to bench press Kochegarov off him but Kochegarov keeps the position.

Kochegarov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Zero knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kochegarov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kochegarov jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Zero manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Kochegarov is looking to take a break and control but Zero is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Zero wants to control but Kochegarov postures up.

Kochegarov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Zero is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Zero takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Kochegarov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Zero, who protects the arm well.
Kochegarov cracks Zero with a big right hand but Zero just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Kochegarov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kochegarov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Zero might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kochegarov wants to control but Zero is keeping him busy.

Zero seems a little lost for a moment, as Kochegarov dominates the positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zero has his foot on Kochegarov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kochegarov works his way back into a safe position though.

Kochegarov drops back looking for a leg! Zero is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Zero manages to kick Kochegarov off! Kochegarov jumps back into Zero's guard.

Zero is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kochegarov is aware though and is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Zero has momentary wrist control but Kochegarov slips an elbow through the middle.

Zero is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kochegarov defends well.
