Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Huff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Strung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jay Strung has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Pedro Huff's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Huff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Strung!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Alyssa Summers and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strung tries a head kick but it misses.

Strung fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Huff.

Strung throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Huff shoots for a double leg takedown but Strung sprawls well. He's pushed Huff's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Huff stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Strung.
Huff has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Strung.
Strung throws a sloppy head kick and Huff moves out of range easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Pedro Huff has been cut.

Huff closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Strung quickly recovers to half guard.

Huff seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Strung for as long as he can get away with.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Huff looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Strung with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Strung should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Huff seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Strung can do anything to dispel that myth.

We've been informed that Strung has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Strung is working to avoid the ground and pound but Huff connects with a decent elbow.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Huff seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Strung throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Huff.
Huff shoots in looking for a takedown but Strung manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Huff's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Strung is looking to stand back up but Huff counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Strung.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Huff really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Huff takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Huff will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
