Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Udo Mets (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darrel Petersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Udo Mets!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Darrel Petersen!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mets shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Petersen counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Petersen throws the left hand but Mets avoids the punch easily.
Petersen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A slow jab from Petersen misses its intended target.

Mets moves into the clinch.
Petersen tries to break the clinch but Mets is controlling the position.
Petersen blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Mets keeps control of Petersen as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mets looking to throw knees to the head but Petersen is blocking nicely.

Mets manages to break the clinch.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Mets!
Petersen scores with a hook.

Petersen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Mets uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Petersen.
Petersen wants to slow Mets down by chopping away at his legs.
Mets is trying hard to land a takedown here. Petersen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Mets works over Petersen's head and body with a nice combination.
Mets shoots in for a takedown but Petersen shows good takedown defense.

Petersen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mets looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Petersen tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Petersen swings around for an armbar but Mets sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Petersen's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Petersen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Mets wants to control from the top but Petersen keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mets postures up.

Petersen working for a triangle but Mets defends it easily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Petersen is on top in guard.

Mets controls Petersen momentarily but Petersen frees himself.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mets utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Petersen slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Darrel Petersen will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Mets shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Petersen counters with a nice body shot.
Mets wants to clinch up but Petersen keeps it at a distance.
Darrel Petersen seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Petersen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mets looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Mets counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Mets throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Mets goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Udo Mets is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Petersen looks to throw the jab but Mets is out of range.
It looked like Mets was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Petersen throws a nice looking combination but Mets bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Petersen takes a swing at Mets's ribcage but misses.
A big left from Petersen misses.
Mets fails with a takedown attempt.
Petersen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mets ducks under a wild hook from Petersen.
Mets throws a quick counter head kick but Petersen was just out of range.
Petersen jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Nice sprawl there from Petersen as Mets shoots in.

Horrible takedown attempt by Mets or perhaps it was just good defense by Petersen, which made it look bad.
Petersen throws out a counter right but Mets avoids it with no problem.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Petersen scores with a hook to the body. Mets takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Petersen takes a swing at Mets's ribcage but misses.

Petersen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Mets takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Petersen working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Petersen goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Mets rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Petersen's guard! Nice work there by Mets!

Petersen tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mets wants to control from the top but Petersen keeps moving.
Petersen trying to keep a closed guard but Mets is proving a slippery customer.
Petersen seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mets won't allow Petersen to sweep him here.

Darrel Petersen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Mets with a lazy takedown attempt
and Petersen counters with a straight right hand.

Mets working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Mets is fighting to break Petersen's control of his arms but Petersen is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Mets wants to get up but he can't break Petersen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Petersen is controlling Mets's posture.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Mets takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Petersen misses with a few strikes there.
Mets fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A little jabbing left from Petersen on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Petersen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

We've been informed that Petersen has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Petersen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Petersen stands and throws Mets's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Mets is not content to let Petersen control the position.

Petersen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Mets has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Petersen but great work by Mets.
Udo Mets overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Petersen throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Petersen is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Petersen keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Petersen is looking to escape.

Petersen pulls Mets in close to prevent any damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Darrel Petersen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Petersen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mets is trying to stand.

I've got Petersen winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
