PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Bane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Super Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Super Man told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bane pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Man with a poor takedown
and Bane counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Super Man has been cut.
Bane just misses with a punch to the body.
Man tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bane manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bane tries to clinch there but Man circles away.
Man is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Man takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Bane pushes Man away with a front kick.
Man keeps Bane at a distance using the push kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Man.

Bane makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Man has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bane avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Man not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Man is looking to pass into half guard but Bane pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Bane is in guard.

Bane throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Man works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Man working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bane.
Bane has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bane thows a huge punch but Man dodges it nicely.

Bane seems to be working for a kimura but Man defends the submission attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Man has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Bane has passed into side control.
