Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Borys Mankowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Callum Welsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mankowski comes into the arena with Kękę -Wyjebane blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Borys Mankowski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Callum Welsh!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Welsh as Mankowski shoots in.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Welsh! But no joy.

Welsh gets tackled into the cage by Mankowski. Mankowski maintains the clinch.
Welsh prevents a takedown attempt there.
Mankowski scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Mankowski wants a takedown.

Mankowski tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Mankowski has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Welsh regains guard immediately.

Mankowski definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Mankowski is trying to work for a kimura but Welsh is defending well.
Mankowski is taking a breather. Welsh says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mankowski prevents Welsh from improving his position.

Mankowski looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Welsh tries to get to full guard but Mankowski has control of the leg.
Well, if Mankowski is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Welsh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Still in half guard, Mankowski seems content to control.
Mankowski has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Welsh throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mankowski was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Welsh throws a head kick but Mankowski moves out of range.
Mankowski appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Welsh stuffs the takedown attempt from Mankowski. Mankowski gets slowly back to his feet.
Welsh flicks out a counter leg kick but Mankowski steps away.
A bone on bone clash there as Mankowski blocks the leg kick.
Welsh stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Welsh wants it to stay on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mankowski tries for a takedown but Welsh sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Welsh rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mankowski moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Mankowski shoots in and bounces Welsh off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Welsh can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mankowski controls the pace.
Mankowski seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Welsh for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mankowski looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Welsh with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Welsh is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Welsh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Mankowski's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We've been informed that Welsh has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Welsh wants to get back to full guard but Mankowski has passed into side control.

Mankowski is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Welsh will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Mankowski takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Mankowski is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Welsh can do to turn this around?
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Welsh.
A combination from Welsh does no damage.
Mankowski attempts a counter takedown but Welsh avoids it well and moves away.

Mankowski turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mankowski manages to end up in side control.
Welsh is looking to get back to his feet here but Mankowski is keeping cool and he's managed to take Welsh's back.

Borys Mankowski is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mankowski, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
