Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Isaias Christian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Christian, pushing him back against the cage.
Christian drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jackson pulls his leg out and moves away.

Jackson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jackson wants to take a breather but Christian is having none of it.
Christian tries to kick Jackson off but Jackson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Christian pushes Jackson off and gets back to his feet.

Jackson gets a double leg takedown into Christian's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Christian has control of Jackson's left arm, preventing Jackson from doing any damage.

Christian wants to get back to his feet but Jackson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Christian is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Jackson presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Christian tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jackson smiles and moves away.

Christian scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Christian seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Jackson is trying to get back to full guard.
Christian passes into side control, despite Jackson's attempt to control the position.

Jackson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Christian asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Jackson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Jackson tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Christian remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Christian tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Christian has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Jackson tries to escape but Christian is in control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jackson is looking to reverse the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Jackson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Christian bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Christian shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jackson counters with a series of strikes. Christian will be more careful next time no doubt.

Christian sneaks out the side door and pushes Jackson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Christian wants to stand back up but Jackson manages to pass into side control.

Jackson controlling well, preventing Christian from escaping the position.

Christian is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Jackson gets his way!
