Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gregory Gumshoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jos Beton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gregory Gumshoe!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jos Beton!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Beton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gumshoe's waist but Gumshoe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Beton off to one side.

Beton tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gumshoe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Beton somewhat.

Gumshoe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Beton's guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Gumshoe with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Gumshoe seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Beton wants to get back to his feet but Gumshoe is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Beton is trying to drag Gumshoe to the mat but Gumshoe just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Beton closes the distance and clinches up with Gumshoe, looking for a takedown. Beton pushes Gumshoe against the cage but Gumshoe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Beton takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gumshoe, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
