Parkin comes into the arena with AFI - Miseria Cantare blaring out of the sound system. Corey Parkin could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Buzz Meeks's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parkin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Parkin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Meeks.
Crunch! Meeks slams his shin into Parkin's torso.
Meeks throws a low kick, looking for Parkin's leg but Parkin calmly moves out of range.
Meeks lands a nice hook to Parkin's body. Parkin takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Meeks shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Parkin is looking to clinch.
Parkin tries to clinch there but Meeks circles away.
Parkin doesn't manage to clinch there - Meeks circles away.
Meeks looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

Meeks has taken the fight to the clinch.
Parkin swings wildly with an uppercut but Meeks uses good head movement to avoid it.
A nice left hand lands by Meeks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Meeks avoids the head kick by Parkin.

and Meeks connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Corey Parkin has been cut.
Meeks lands a nice shot that snaps Parkin's head back.
