Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jenik Krejza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Athanasios Konstantoulakis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Athanasios Konstantoulakis will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 17 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jenik Krejza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Athanasios Konstantoulakis!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Konstantoulakis connects with a jab.


It looks like Jenik Krejza has been cut.
Krejza uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Konstantoulakis.
Konstantoulakis swinging wildly here.
Krejza lands a front kick.
Krejza lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Krejza rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Konstantoulakis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Krejza thuds his shin into the meat of Konstantoulakis's side.
We've been told by Krejza's head coaches at The Bear's Den that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Konstantoulakis throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Krejza throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Konstantoulakis smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Krejza bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Konstantoulakis fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Krejza feints and as Konstantoulakis raises his hands in defense, Krejza changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Krejza forces his way into half guard.
Konstantoulakis looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Krejza slows the pace down in half guard.
Krejza takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Konstantoulakis tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Krejza controlling the pace.
Krejza looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Konstantoulakis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Krejza decides to stand up.
Krejza swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Konstantoulakis throws out a counter right but Krejza avoids it with no problem.

Krejza forces Konstantoulakis back against the cage and clinches.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Konstantoulakis.

Krejza breaks the clinch.
Konstantoulakis avoids the head kick by Krejza.
Konstantoulakis swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Krejza.

Krejza decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Konstantoulakis is looking for a sweep. Krejza is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Krejza working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Konstantoulakis wants to improve his position but Krejza is controlling well.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Konstantoulakis throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Krejza looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Krejza looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Krejza lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Krejza looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Konstantoulakis is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Krejza scores with a couple of nice shots.

Konstantoulakis flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Krejza has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Krejza drops an elbow to the side of Konstantoulakis's head.

Krejza stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Konstantoulakis looks to score with a jab to the body but Krejza is just out of range.
Athanasios Konstantoulakis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Konstantoulakis's corner calls for a 1-2. Konstantoulakis obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Konstantoulakis throws a lazy right hand but Krejza sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Konstantoulakis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Krejza circles away quickly and effectively.
The fighters circling - Konstantoulakis throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Konstantoulakis fails to land with a series of punches.
It looked like Krejza was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Krejza drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Krejza grinds an elbow into Konstantoulakis's temple.
Krejza controls the position from side control.
Konstantoulakis throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
The referee asks Krejza politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Krejza prefers to stall for the moment though.
Krejza has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Konstantoulakis is desperately trying to improve his position but Krejza has a good base and remains in mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Konstantoulakis cracks Krejza with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Krejza avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Krejza. Konstantoulakis shrugs it off though.
Konstantoulakis scores with a shot to the body.
Konstantoulakis lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Krejza backs up against the cage.
A looping hook to the body misses from Konstantoulakis. Krejza does a little dance to reset his feet.
Konstantoulakis throws a right and a left that Krejza avoids nicely.
Konstantoulakis throws a poor cross that misses
and Krejza counters with a left and a right that stings Konstantoulakis.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Krejza counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Krejza is working Konstantoulakis over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.


Konstantoulakis is rocked!
Krejza is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Konstantoulakis can do to turn this around?
Krejza postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Konstantoulakis covers up, he's hurt! Krejza keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Krejza and the ref steps in to end the fight! Krejza can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
