Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Du Yuesheng!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Melvin Mercy!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yuesheng avoids a punch combination nicely.
Yuesheng dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Mercy jabs Yuesheng right on the nose. Yuesheng blinks but takes it well.
Yuesheng cracks a nice hook into Mercy's ribs.
A telegraphed right hand from Yuesheng misses the target.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mercy's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Yuesheng connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mercy scrambles back to his feet.

Yuesheng doesn't manage to clinch there - Mercy circles away.
Yuesheng throws a lazy uppercut
and Mercy counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Yuesheng crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mercy - the referee stops the clock and Yuesheng gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mercy. Yuesheng manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

That was a close second round but I would say that Du Yuesheng will probably get the nod.

BOOM! Yuesheng lands a beautiful left hook that drops Mercy. Mercy tries to recover but Yuesheng is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Mercy lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
