PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jean Hugo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demo Mauler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jean Hugo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Demo Mauler!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hugo throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Mauler fails with the takedown.

Mauler dives in and scores a takedown into Hugo's guard.
Mauler is standing up over Hugo. Hugo looks to escape but Mauler dives into side control.

Hugo is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Mauler has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Hugo struggling a bit here.
Hugo tries to buck Mauler off but Mauler is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mauler tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mauler has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mauler working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

You can see the frustration on Hugo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mauler has an Americana. Hugo didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Mauler is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Mauler hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
