These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sergio Moro!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moro looks to score with a jab to the body but Austin is just out of range.
Austin has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Skulls house of pain in the buildup to the fight.
Moro will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Moro ducks under a wild hook from Austin.
Moro throws a series of punches but Austin avoids them all with ease.
Moro misses with a hook. Austin ducked under it nicely.
It looked like Austin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Austin lands a nice looking body shot.

It seemed like Moro was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Donk. Moro catches Austin right on the button with a cross.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Austin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Austin moves out of range as Moro strikes.

and Austin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Moro thinking.
Austin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Moro.

The cut above Sergio Moro's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Clinched against the cage, Austin lands a big elbow that drops Moro! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - Moro is complaining that he's OK but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shane Austin!
Shane Austin retains his light heavyweight title!
A relieved looking Shane Austin thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
