PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Batista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Vos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Batista comes to the cage accompanied by I Walk Alone. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dave Batista!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tom Vos!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vos pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Batista tries to counter with a takedown but Vos is quick to defend against it.
Vos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Vos pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Batista back to the cage. Vos follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Vos misses with a looping left.
Batista slips a jab and a cross from Vos.
Batista shoots in looking for a takedown but Vos manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Batista's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Batista drops his hands momentarily and Vos takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Batista shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vos pinned against the cage. Vos gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Vos swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Batista has a takedown stuffed.
Vos lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dave Batista. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Batista moves away from the strike by Vos.
Vos's jab looks to have found its range, popping Batista under the eye.
Vos works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vos jabs Batista right on the nose. Batista blinks but takes it well.
Batista with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Vos to score with a decent uppercut.
Vos scores with the left hand. Batista knows he should have avoided that one.
Batista fails with the takedown.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A cross from Vos lands.
Vos misses with a jab, cross combination.
Vos throws a series of punches but Batista avoids them all with ease.
Vos scores with a decent looking hook.
Batista looks to land a right hand but Vos moved out of range.
It seemed like Vos was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Vos throws a nice looking combination but Batista bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Batista seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Batista shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Batista is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Vos.
Vos looks to land a left hand but Batista moved out of range nicely.
Tom Vos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Vos lands a jab to the nose.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Batista goes for a double leg but Vos avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vos continues to drive forward.
Batista moves away from the strike by Vos.
Batista shoots in and drives through. Vos sprawls well.
Vos scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Vos lands a nice shot that snaps Batista's head back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Batista on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Vos lands a lovely overhand right.
Batista shoots in but no luck this time.
Batista dives in and grabs Vos's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vos pushes down on Batista's head and hops out.
Batista is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Vos.
Batista has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Vos finds it's way round the side to connect with Batista's head.
Vos looks to land a combination. Batista sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


Batista is rocked!
Vos throws an uppercut from hell that sends Batista clean off his feet! He's out cold! Vos stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tom Vos!
Tom Vos decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
