Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Apollo Creed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Creed comes into the arena with James Brown - Living in America blaring out of the sound system. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Apollo Creed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 39 - 50 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Rogers!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rogers.
As Rogers tries to get set, Creed tries to push him back and clinch up but Rogers manages to avoid the attempt.
Rogers takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Creed circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rogers on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Rogers misses with a takedown
and Creed counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Creed throws a nice outside leg kick.

Creed moves into the clinch.
Creed has Rogers pressed against the cage, preventing Rogers from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Rogers wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rogers gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Creed regains guard.
Creed has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Creed not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Creed is looking to sweep but instead, Rogers has passed into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Creed is holding on to half guard well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rogers wants to free his trapped foot but Creed is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Creed knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rogers on the ground.
Creed has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rogers is working away from the top position though.
Creed is holding on to half guard well.
Rogers is keen to just control but Creed is a slippery customer.
Creed is looking to get back to full guard here but Rogers has managed to pass to side control instead.
Creed is looking to regain half guard here but Rogers keeps moving and retains side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rogers fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Creed is trying to improve his position.
Rogers takes a little break here. Creed wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Rogers is trying to get an arm triangle but Creed is defending well.
Creed wants to control but Rogers postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Creed tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Rogers wants to control for a moment but Creed uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Creed is trying to get back to full guard.
Creed is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Rogers jumps into side control!
Rogers tries to move to mount but Creed blocks the move with his legs.
Creed is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Rogers wants to control but Creed is keeping him busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Rogers tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Creed is not content to let Rogers control the position.
Creed tries to improve position but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Apollo Creed will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Rogers looks to land a combination but Creed avoids it well.
Rogers looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rogers throws a right and a left that both miss.
Creed throws out a loose jab but Rogers uses good head movement to avoid it.
Creed throws a hook to the side of Rogers's head but Rogers sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rogers is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Creed buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Rogers displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Creed throws out the jab.
Creed tries to clinch but Rogers is having none of it.
Creed throws a right and a left that Rogers avoids nicely.
Rogers takes a shot to the body in his stride.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rogers throws a hook but Creed blocks it.

Creed gets tackled into the cage by Rogers. Rogers maintains the clinch.
Rogers is looking to break free of the clinch but Creed has double underhooks.

Rogers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rogers gets cracked there but stands up to it.


Rogers is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rogers doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Rogers is still on wobbly legs! Can Creed finish him?
Rogers is breathing heavily.
Rogers walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Rogers limp body while Creed jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Apollo Creed!
Our winner, Apollo Creed, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
