Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hop Sing Jung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Vermeer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jung's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Jiu Jitsu. Alexander Vermeer will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jung has Vermeer up against the cage in a clinch.
Vermeer digs a right hand into Jung's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Jung's gas tank.
Jung fails to pull guard.
Jung's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jung circles away from the clinch attempt.
Vermeer scores with a nice right hand.
It looks like Hop Sing Jung has been cut.
Jung slips under a jab from Vermeer.
Vermeer throws a shot to the body.
Vermeer misses with a wild body shot.
Jung closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jung turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Jung manages to end up in side control.
Vermeer sneaks out the side door and pushes Jung away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

and Vermeer counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Jung on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Jung loads up on a big right hand but Vermeer slips the punch.
Vermeer misses with a wild body shot.
Jung changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Vermeer jabs Jung to the body, keeping him at a distance.

and Vermeer counters by clinching up.
Jung is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Vermeer to keep the fight standing.
Jung tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vermeer smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hop Sing Jung. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A right hook to the body lands for Jung.

Alexander Vermeer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vermeer feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Jung sprawling to the canvas! Jung rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Vermeer finish him?!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vermeer lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Jung out cold! Jung is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Alexander Vermeer!
Alexander Vermeer is the new lightweight champion!
In his post fight interview, Alexander Vermeer started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
