Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Theo Madson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson has chosen Sail as his entrance music. The key to victory for Theo Madson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Theo Madson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Jackson !
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Madson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Jackson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Madson wants to get back to his feet but Jackson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Madson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jackson is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Madson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Jackson advances to half guard.
Jackson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
It looks like Jackson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Madson has managed to free his arm - good work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Madson shoots in and bounces Jackson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jackson holds on and takes a little breather.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Madson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Madson shows good takedown defense.
Madson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jackson .

Madson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jackson 's guard.
Joe Jackson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jackson wants to sweep but no luck.

Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Madson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jackson is breathing heavily.

Jackson keeping moving, preventing Madson from controlling successfully.

Madson wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.

Madson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jackson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Madson has managed to get both his arms back between Jackson 's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Madson trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Madson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Jackson seems keen to control Madson's posture.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Madson connects with a leg kick. Jackson looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Theo Madson dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Madson throws a one two combo.
Madson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A right-left combo lands from Madson.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Madson enables Jackson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Madson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Madson manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Madson is trying to trip Jackson . He has hold of a leg but Jackson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Madson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Jackson seems keen to control Madson's posture.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Madson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jackson pulls Madson in close to prevent any damage.
Jackson 's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Jackson is looking to stand up but Madson isn't so interested in that idea.

Jackson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Madson is aware though and is defending well.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jackson holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Jackson closes the distance and clinches.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Madson pulls guard.
Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Madson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Madson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jackson stops Madson from standing up.
Jackson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Jackson stays in close to Madson's body and controls the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Madson feints and as Jackson raises his hands in defense, Madson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jackson pulls Madson in close to his closed guard and prevents Madson from doing any damage or advancing position.
Jackson keeping full guard, as Madson tries to pass.
Jackson pulls Madson in close to prevent any damage.
Jackson wants to stand and escape but Madson is having none of it.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jackson holds on and takes a little breather.
Let's hope that Jackson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Jackson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Madson is controlling him.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Madson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Theo Madson showed his dominance in that final round.
