Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Wax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harold Shipman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Charlie Wax!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Harold Shipman!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wax throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Shipman drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Wax defends it well.

Shipman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shipman lands in his opponent's guard.

Shipman drops back looking for a leg! Wax is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wax manages to kick Shipman off! Shipman jumps back into Wax's guard.
Wax tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Wax has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Wax is looking for a triangle but Shipman pushes his legs off easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wax looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Shipman passes into half guard.

Wax is looking for a sweep. Shipman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Shipman takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Shipman moves nicely into side control.
Shipman trying to control the action but Wax is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wax sneaks back into half guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Shipman working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Wax looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Wax wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shipman is trying to control the action in half guard but Wax is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shipman connects with a nice short shot to Wax's temple.
Shipman is thwarting Wax's attempts to control the position.

Shipman is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Shipman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Wax is refusing to be controlled, as Shipman sits in half guard.

Shipman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Shipman stands up over Wax, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Wax.

The fighters circle momentarily. Wax darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wax misses with a kick to the body
and Shipman counters with a straight right hand.
Shipman uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Wax.
A countering left hand to the body from Shipman misses.
Wax is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Shipman is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Shipman takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Wax throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Charlie Wax is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wax throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Shipman sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Wax lands with a thumping leg kick.
Wax throws a good cross that connects.
Shipman shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Wax connects with a crisp jab.
A big left from Shipman misses.
Shipman misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Wax.
Shipman is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Wax.
It looked like Wax was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Shipman.
Shipman might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Wax throws a wild body kick that Shipman sees coming a mile off.
Wax walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Wax swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wax smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.


Shipman is rocked!


It looks like Harold Shipman has been cut.
Shipman sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Shipman is still on wobbly legs! Can Wax finish him?
Wax throws a monster overhand right that drops Shipman! Wax follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charlie Wax!
After the fight, Charlie Wax was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
