The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcfacepunch missing with a left hand there. De Villefort was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
De Villefort moves forwards but Mcfacepunch connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Mcfacepunch darts in and clinches De Villefort up against the cage.

De Villefort manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

De Villefort working for a triangle but Mcfacepunch defends it easily.
Mcfacepunch wanted to stand there but De Villefort had control of the position.

Mcfacepunch got a little sloppy there for a moment and De Villefort has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mcfacepunch has managed to get both his arms back between De Villefort's legs - danger averted.

De Villefort isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mcfacepunch stacks De Villefort on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mcfacepunch!

Mcfacepunch misses with an uppercut. De Villefort saw that one coming.
Mcfacepunch throws a looping overhand right but De Villefort ducks down to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mcfacepunch fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and De Villefort has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and De Villefort counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Mcfacepunch is looking to stand up but De Villefort isn't so interested in that idea.

We've been hearing that De Villefort has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
