The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aleksanyan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cockhold sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Aleksanyan somewhat.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Aleksanyan.
Aleksanyan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A nice side step and Cockhold releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Artur Aleksanyan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Aleksanyan has a takedown stuffed.

Cockhold rushes Aleksanyan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cockhold escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Aleksanyan gets caught napping as Cockhold dives in and scores a takedown. Aleksanyan manages to retain guard.

Cockhold gets to his feet - Aleksanyan follows without any prompting.

Cockhold is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Cockhold closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Aleksanyan's guard.

Cockhold sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Aleksanyan doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Cockhold paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Aleksanyan - great work!
