The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilbert checks the leg kick.
Gilbert lands a head kick. Parsons smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Parsons connects with a solid leg kick.
Gilbert fails with an attempt to clinch.

Parsons rushes Gilbert and presses him up against the cage.

Gilbert has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Parsons avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Gilbert chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Parsons can pounce on him.

and Parsons counters with a straight right hand.

Gilbert gets tackled into the cage by Parsons. Parsons maintains the clinch.

Parsons fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Parsons has managed to clinch.
Parsons scores with a hook to the body.

Parsons jumps into guard, dragging Gilbert to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Parsons is pulling down on Gilbert's head. It's preventing any offense from Gilbert, at least for the moment.

Parsons kicks Gilbert off and gets to his feet.
Parsons feints and then cracks Gilbert's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gilbert down.

Gilbert is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Gilbert shoots for a takedown but Parsons saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Parsons! Gilbert is out on his feet! Parsons rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Gilbert is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Gilbert is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
