Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kai Yamaguchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bonerz McGee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yamaguchi comes to the cage accompanied by Yama Yama. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGee throws a front kick aimed at Yamaguchi's knee but Yamaguchi avoids it well.
McGee throws a good cross that connects.
Yamaguchi checks a low kick from McGee.

Nice uppercut lands for McGee. That snapped Yamaguchi's head back.

McGee throws out a counter right but Yamaguchi avoids it with no problem.

McGee throws a jab but it's blocked by Yamaguchi.

Yamaguchi swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Yamaguchi lands with a kick to the temple. McGee shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Yamaguchi was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
McGee tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Yamaguchi's elbow.

Yamaguchi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Yamaguchi throws a body punch but McGee moves out of range.
And McGee responds with a good body kick, but Yamaguchi manages to step out the way in time.
McGee throws out a loose jab but Yamaguchi uses good head movement to avoid it.
Yamaguchi pivots, looking for a leg kick but McGee is out of range and Yamaguchi settles back down.

McGee fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Yamaguchi to the ground. McGee is now in Yamaguchi's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Yamaguchi controls McGee momentarily but McGee frees himself.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McGee throws a strike but Yamaguchi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Yamaguchi content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because McGee has locked up a guillotine! McGee's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Yamaguchi is holding on here and McGee must be using up a lot of energy. Yamaguchi has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! McGee gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
