Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Bones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Geronimo Apache (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Apache has chosen Eye of the Tiger as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmy Bones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Geronimo Apache!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bones jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Apache swings widly with a right hand

and Bones counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Apache!
Bones trying to control the action but Apache is working from the bottom.
Bones taking a breather here.

Bones goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Apache rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bones's guard! Nice work there by Apache!
Apache controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Let's hope that Apache has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Apache lands a couple of digs.
Apache stays in close to Bones's body and controls the position.
Bones tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bones could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Apache controls from within his opponent's guard.

Apache stands up from Bones's guard - Apache perhaps looking for a knockout.

and Apache moves into the clinch.

Apache breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Apache shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Bones kicks Apache off and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bones goes for a double leg but Apache avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Apache continues to drive forward.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Apache closes the distance and pushes Bones back into the cage.

Apache successfully pulls guard.
Bones wants to stand but Apache is controlling his posture from full guard.
Bones preventing the sweep.
Apache wants to get back to his feet but Bones is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Apache has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Bones is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Apache.
Bones wants to break the clinch but can't.
Bones is trying to pull guard but Apache has him pressed against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Bones. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Apache manages to pull guard.
Bones trying to control but Apache is working from the bottom.
Apache wants to stand and escape but Bones is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Apache thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Apache wants to stand up but Bones is controlling him.
We've been informed that Apache has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Bones throws a strike but Apache rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Apache content to stall in guard here.
Bones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Apache.

Apache stands up and waves to Bones to follow him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Apache closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bones's guard.

Apache stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Bones shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Apache defends it nicely.
Apache shoots in but no luck this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sloppy strikes from Apache. Those never looked like landing.
Apache keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bones.

enabling Apache to counter with a crisp jab.

Apache looks for a takedown but Bones sprawls well.
Bones moves in looking to clinch but Apache pushes him off.

Apache shoots in and bounces Bones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Bones is working an open guard so Apache takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Apache shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bones napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Apache decides to stand back up.
Jimmy Bones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Apache keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Apache fails with the takedown.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bones lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bones.

Bones takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Apache throws a series of punches but Bones moves out of range.
Bones throws a right hand that Apache ducks under and follows up with a left that Apache also avoids with ease.
Apache lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Apache tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Apache gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Apache escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Apache decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Apache is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Apache decides to stand and escape the position.
Apache looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bones misses with a leg kick
and Apache counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Apache with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Bones takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Apache manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bones on his heels. He'll look to pass Bones's guard now, I'm sure.
Apache is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Geronimo Apache showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Bones shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Apache scores with a head kick.
Apache connects with a solid leg kick.
Bones shoots in and drives through. Apache sprawls well.
Apache lands a nice looking kick to the body. Bones takes a step back to recover.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Apache sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bones somewhat.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Apache tries to avoid it but Bones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Apache to the ground. Apache escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Bones. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Apache has managed to clinch.

Apache manages to break the clinch.
Bones fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Bones misses with a takedown attempt
and Apache counters with a left and a right that stings Bones.

Apache clinches.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Apache.

Apache pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bones takes a head kick and keeps coming.
A looping hook to the body misses from Apache. Bones does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bones appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Apache closes the distance and clinches up with Bones, looking for a takedown. Apache pushes Bones against the cage but Bones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Bones gets tackled into the cage by Apache. Apache maintains the clinch.
Bones drops down looking for an ankle pick but Apache pulls his leg out and moves away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Apache counters by clinching up.
Apache lands an uppercut.

Apache breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Apache clinches up with Bones and pushes him back against the cage.
Bones is trying to drag Apache to the mat but Apache just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Apache breaks from the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A left lands for Apache.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Apache.

Apache darts in and clinches Bones up against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Bones takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Bones wants to take the fight to the mat but Apache manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Apache breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Apache misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bones swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Apache shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Apache looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Some wild striking there from Apache.
Bones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Apache avoids the head kick by Bones.
As Bones backs off Apache throws a huge counter combo but Bones manages to avoid it all.
Jimmy Bones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Geronimo Apache is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Apache throws a combination. Bones tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

And that's the end of the fight!
Geronimo Apache comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Apache has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Geronimo Apache spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
