Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Trejo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Renan Faber!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trejo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Despite the aggression on Faber's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Faber lands a jab-cross combination.


It looks like Jack Trejo has been cut.

Trejo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Trejo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Faber is keeping the position for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Faber wants to stand but Trejo is controlling the position.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Faber is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Trejo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Faber has escaped the position, nice work there.
Faber gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Faber can do anything to dispel that myth.

Trejo looking to secure an arm triangle but Faber defends it well.
Trejo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Faber is looking to escape.
Faber really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trejo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Trejo is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Faber is surviving well by controlling Trejo's body position as best he can.

Trejo jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Faber manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Faber is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Trejo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Faber, who protects the arm well.

Trejo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Trejo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Faber is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Trejo has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Trejo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Trejo moves into full mount!

Trejo working for a guillotine from mount but Faber is in no mood to give up.

Trejo looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
You get the feeling that Faber really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Faber is squirming around, avoiding Trejo's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Faber cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Trejo misses with a takedown
and Faber counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Trejo looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Trejo tries to clinch up but Faber circles away and keeps his distance.

enabling Faber to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Trejo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Faber bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Trejo's head.
Trejo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Faber defends it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trejo doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Faber counters with a nice uppercut.


Trejo is rocked!
Faber feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Trejo crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Renan Faber!
Renan Faber decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
