The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howe misses with a jab, cross combination.
Epxc now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Epxc staying out of range there.
Howe keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Epxc lands a lovely overhand right.

It looks like Heriberto Howe has been cut.
Epxc fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Howe is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Epxc.
Howe really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Howe dives in for a single leg takedown but Epxc sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Epxc darts in and clinches Howe up against the cage.

Howe has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Epxc uses from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Epxc chips away with some ground and pound.
Epxc throws a big elbow that misses.
Howe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Epxc gets to his feet. Howe looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Epxc throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Howe is breathing heavily.

Epxc lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Howe is looking to close the distance but Epxc sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Howe crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Howe is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
