The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gonon shoots in and gets a takedown into Shaw's guard.
Shaw wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Gonon manages to pass to side control.

Shaw wants to stand back up but Gonon manages to pass into side control.
Gonon works to advance to full mount. Shaw defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Shaw is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gonon working for a submission but Shaw is keeping him at bay.
Shaw is trying to stand but he's just given Gonon his back.

Gonon is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Shaw defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Gonon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Gonon is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
